Ok...Got Floating Thumb Down...

Hi Todd,

I've been gigging with a fun Blues Band for over a year now and when asked what my music style is, I say: "Blues and some rock....some day, Jazz (I say longingly)."

I watched your floating thumb video over two years ago now (??) and realize that I picked up on that pronto and that's just the way I roll now, so thanks for a simple but important thing.

Just placed an order for the Vol 1. Walking Bassline DVD and book. I just retired and am ready to start prepping for "some day, Jazz" so I'm countin' on ya!

Wish me luck! By Turkey day, maybe I'll be fumbling thru my first module lesson (which instinctively makes as much sense to me as floating thumb, so here goes...)

Happy holidays....11 55 11 55 11 55:bassist:

God Bless,

Todd,

I got the DVD and I must say, I'm very encouraged by the "logic" of your module system. First time I can say that I can see some light at the end of my walking bassline tunnel.

One thing I could use a little help with is your fingering method. You are such a smooth devil that at times its hard to see which fingers are actually accomplishing the note.

Which leads me to ask the question: what is your "standard form" for fingering?

In my Blues world, I'm kinda used to starting off an arpeggiated major chord with finger 2 on the root with finger 1 doing duty as the 3 note depresser with lots of duty for my little finder reaching for 5's and 8's.

I see in your modules, it seems you typically have Finger 1 on the root, so I'm slightly disoriented on fingering approach. I generally get it, but I'm spending too much time re-running for fingering, like I missed the first class on standard fingering, so to speak.

Thanks!
