I'm liking what I hear about the Palatino-with-a-Krivo solution. One more question: is the scale length standard 3/4 DB size (like 40-42")? It seems that, since the "soundbox" does little, that it would be OK to move the bridge up and down to get the same scale length as my bass, if it's pretty close.

If there is a soundpost inside (I don't know, but since the bridge legs are so close to the ribs, it might not be needed for stability), you need to move the post too.
If there is no soundpost inside, you might want to stay close to the ribs with the bridge or put a soundpost in.
Don't forget, that the fifth at the neck heel moves by a third of the bridge displacement distance in the same direction.
Is there a real neck heel? Sorry, but there aren't a lot of good pictures and specs out there for this thing. Easier for me to just ask people.

I don't have much experience with EUB's. But I played a Yamaha silent bass the other day in a music shop. That felt like a normal upright to me. Especially because of the design you have the same feel when going into TP.
I think that is the most important aspect. If you only have a stick like the NS then you miss the feel of a real upright because you don't feel when you are going into TP. Also you should have about the same action as on your real upright. I like a low action but some EUB have it too low like an electric bass.
Those MK basses look really nice. Also would like to know about the prices. Can't find it.

ok thanks! Not a bad price at all. The only thing I don't like is that the tuning knobs are at the bridge side. I prefer how it looks on the jazz model. Must be for space reasons (?) but doesn't seem practical for tuning to me. Do all the models use the same pickup and electronics?

Can someone give me more info on these? A search for MK Classic Electric Double Bass doesn't yield a whole lot of information. What's the price on these and where can they be purchased?
I sent them an email through their website days ago and still waiting for a response. They have so many models but the descriptions are a bit vague. For instance, what's the difference between the Studio and the Jazz model other than the jazz has the tuners in the pegbox? I see the way the bridge contacts the body is a little different as there's more surface area on the Jazz but there's very little detail about how the design different.
The video clips kinda don't make sense to me either. To my ears, the Studio model sounds the best out of all 4 for what I want (playing jazz). You would think the Classic model would be the best but maybe that's more for classical players?
I wish they would put who the intended target for each model as part of the literature.

Ahhh... I looked carefully at the photos and the Fly is basically a folding Studio? That's the one I want (as a 5 stringer)!
@EUBs MK - if you simply added the option of leg supports similar to what you have on the cello model, you will make a lot of sitting bassists extremely happy. Pretty much the same thing for the cello but bigger to match the size of the DB. Being able to adjust the width would be a nice bonus feature.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not ready to buy at the moment but it'll be soon. The comment about the sitting option was mainly for others as I know there is a demand for that purpose.
Just one more question though: do the basses come with a custom carry bag? What do you do in terms of cases for the Fly version?
