You're putting both the Oceans 11 and the Rainbow Machine in the SuperEgo's effects loop? I bet that can get pretty strange - in a good way!
...always a fan of feedback loops that are played by the effects they are going through, controlled infinite feedback delay, looping in general...and the ability to take up allot of space... I've also had things like the eqd Arapanoid and Way Huge ring modulator (for adding metallic sounds) to the "sound fountain" of the Rainbow Machine. These things can boil over though, and you have to lower the flame. btw, I'm using rainbowmachine with pitch just over or slightly below unison, keeping it in chorus on steroids territory, not dive-bombing madness.
My smaller studio board has the Superego Plus, which has a better footswitch situation, but the only onboard effect I use is the filter to make a low-fi sample.

Add to that there is no PLATE reverb on the WET. So double I have no freakin clue what he just said....
WET is the reverb algorythm.....
V5 has two of them in one pedal.

Yes but also the name of that one pedal, so just a tad confusing. But also obviously something hot. Which is what is interesting me.

I use an Oceans 11 in the send/return of a EH Superego. It "rules" there, certainly best shimmer so far, and for awhile I was using Superego/shimmer sound allot. Superego/Oceans 11/EQD Rainbow Machine--just don't get sea sick.

Right before my total board overhaul and ensuing firesale, my 11 had found itself in the effects loop of the SuperEgo+, so you and I are on the same wavelength. :) I tried out a Rainbow Machine 7 years ago, and it was a little too insane, even for my tastes. I probably would've kept it for a while if I had really found a way to use it as a song specific pedal, but never found that right song.

And this talk of the SuperEgo reminds me that it works as a "creepy reverb pedal" to me. I used to use it on Turn the Page in a classic rock cover band, one of two times during a 2-3 hour show where I used an effect, but for that song, it worked like an evil charm.

Using RainbowMachine in the Superego send/return saved it being traded away. In the superego it makes for a constant change like a kind of water fountain. but a plain ol' phaser is a Must in the superego.
absolutely using faster decay times makes a kind of creepy reverb. I've never used fast decays times... I do like some EH Attack Decay though. (but not before superego, it doesn't trigger it)

Triggering the SuperEgo (and +, but esp the +) was always a risky proposition it felt like. I keep my phaser at the end of my chain to throw everything into a spin cycle. To get back to reverb, the Ocean's 12 had a cool upgrade over the 11, a new Tide feature, where in stereo reverbs are washed around the stereo field, which a good phaser can do as well, but this one actually made me seasick while listening with headphones and further swirling with phaser. One reason I never bonded with the 12 may have been that the Tide necessitated dual reverbs to be on. If there was a toggle to send a single reverb as a stereo image and allow its usage that way, I probably would have kept it just for that Tide. I actually thought the Shimmer was harder to dial in on the 12 as well, and that was my primary use of the 11, so it didn't stick despite some great sounding reverbs within.

I will check into these. Like I said I already have EQD's version of this in the Dispatch Master. I am wondering how different/similar these pedals are to the Dispatch Master?

I am looking for reverb with a shorter decay time and perhaps more control over some of the parameters.
Yes, but the Caverns is not like the Dispatch Master. It has a separate footswitch for each effect. It's one of very few delay/reverb pedals that allows the use of either alone AND together.

Good luck hearing that when you playing at gig levels in a group unless you are playing a solo.
Hmmmm...
yeah, I don't know man. I use reverb all the time in live settings, in a fairly loud group. Everytime I watch a video of a live performance the reverb is quite apparent.

Interesting deep effects use with Superego (and +) from @SunnBass and @AlvarHanso, I appreciate sound-scapes and more heavily effected playing, but it takes a special band to let that happen.

This quest is just for a general purpose reverb that I can use in any band for a counter-melody, intro/outro, or to add some depth to a fuzz tone while soloing.

One thing I am seeking to avoid is running stereo. I realize a lot of cool things happen with stereo reverb and stereo delay, but for the kind of applications I am looking at, it's definitely the case that I get one and only one DI feed to FOH. I still get weird looks from some folks that I have effects at all. Most of them do come around by the end of the set.

What can you say about the Neunaber Immerse Mk2? Obviously not as good as the Big Sky, but any insight on how it works on bass?
It is good enough. It is more subtle than Big Sky or Mercury 7. I do love its Plate, then W3T. Its shimmer is not of my favourite (but it is better off Mercury 7). Detune is nice too, a kind of chorusy reverb. Infinite (gated) reverb is a SOMETHING, but i do use it rarely. Echoes mode is a bit tweaky and i use it in conjuction with a Strymon Dig. Spring is surprisingly good even that is not authentic. So, MK2 is the one of the best reverbs ever! MK1 - is not, as they have failed a deal with the mix knob.

Interesting. There has been a lot of support for the Meris Mercury 7 in the thread so far, so interesting that you prefer the Immerse's shimmer.

I really want a shimmer that works well with bass but that seems a hard thing to pull off.

Big Sky or Night Sky. It works with bass. Meris's have biggest ISSUE: if you push alt to edit secondary functions - it will save your settings then. It is disgusting!

My favorite is the EQD Dispatch Master, because I like the "airy" reverb tone and appreciate that the pedal does double duty as a delay. I also enjoyed the Nimbus, but it has more of a "cavern" or "underground" type of reverb tone to my ear, whereas a slightly prefer a tone more in the vein of the EQD.

I will however note that I tend to use reverb more as a sound effect, often layered with other effects (chorus, delay, reverb), to spice up upper register chords, arpeggios, and solos. I rarely use it on bass lines and rarely use subtle settings.
