Ok, i've got two basses that i'm thinking of getting, a squier p-bass special and an epiphone thunderbird goth bass. The squier: http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_black_and_chrome_p_bass.htm?partner_id=59917 The epiphone: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/epiphone-thunderbird-gothic/11611 I'm REALLY stuck on what to get guys, price isn't really an object so i'm looking for quality of build, ease of playability, and the sound. Sound-wise i like something thats not really fat and not really harsh either, i like it so be smooth, no really booming lows or really crisp highs, i just like level lows and level highs. HELP!!!! Bass Junkie.
this is the best squier by far, if you decide on squier or whatever, this kills both of those basses by a long shot. by the way, if you're not into V's, there is a IV too, and i see you like black... you can get either of them in all black. as for the p or tbird, i wouldn't recommend either. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Affinity-Active-5-String-Jazz-Bass-V?sku=512618
I like different basses - I'd get the T-bird. You can adjust the sound with strings. I've always like their look! If you had a third option, I'd vote for the Squier Vintage Modified TB Precision Bass Guitar (the now well-regarded '51 P clone).
I tried one a couple of weeks ago, and the neck had a not so great feel about it, felt kinda flimsy. Could have been a pour setup.
