Ok last post...Which bass should I pick?

Ok I have decided on a passive, 4 string P bass. Now which one should I pick. The choices: A MIM 50's P-Bass or a MIA American Special P bass. I like the look of the 50's P bass better, but is the American Special better than the 50's P bass? Ther American Special is a cheaper MIA P bass version. The American Special is $799 and the 50's P bass is $749. What do you guys think?

I would go American over Mexican always if financially viable. Just for potential resale purposes alone.

Well it is the cheaper American P bass. It does not have the string through bridge.

I have an American Special that is a surprisingly good example of a P-bass. YMMV.

But heck, flip a coin. It's not like this will be the last bass you'll every buy.

lol maybe. I have played and owned so many basses, and have been wanting to get a Fender P bass for awhile. Have owned and played so many basses, I have came to the realization that I do not need an active complicated bass. A p bass will serve me very well.

The specials are a rip off. When you figure in the cheap tuners and bridge along with no hard case you are paying more for a special than a standard.

I don't usually like sunburst but I like it better, too.
Can the MIA do something the MIM can't? I mean, both can be used to make the kind of music you like, right?
It's not a question of MIA vs MIM.
The only question is which one you'll be happiest with.
And that's no question at all.

The special line is a bit of a rip-off. Just find a well-made MIM or, heck, a classic vibe and upgrade the hardware.
