OK tell the truth...

I like Christmas, but I am nowhere near the over the top people who always wear Christmas sweaters (I don't own one)
I don't play Christmas music from November through New Year's.
But I do enjoy the candy canes & egg nog (Which I drink sparingly these days)
I do gather with family & stuff like that--but we don't buy tons of gifts & send out 100s of Christmas cards, etc.

the trappings aren't a big deal to me.
Even simple decorating I can take or leave.
If decorating is up to me, t won't get done.
If others wish to do so--cool.

We're watching FX Channel's rendition of a Christmas Carol, which so far is weird & DARK.

I realized I'm not the Grinch, I'm Scrooge.

He suggested that everyone should be nice to one another as if it were the holidays all year long & then have a Scrooge day where people say how they actually feel about one another, LMAO!

Christmas to me is all about the kids. Mine are grown and moved out, so this is a pretty rare occasion to see them. Unfortunately, my son can't make it until middle of January because of school and work, so it'll be Christmas in January for us. My daughter doesn't live far from me so we will spend Christmas eve at my mom's house. There's always good food and family, that's what it's about for me, I don't need presents, time with the kids is the best present.

I guess I'm just a crusty old curmudgeon now, because the holidays really put me off of humans!
Made the mistake of going out in that madness today & drivers act like complete idiots.

The fire-lanes at shopping complexes don't just have a couple of vehicles blocking the entrance, there's a long row of vehicles blocking the front.
I saw one near-miss because of how oblivious people are to their surroundings when they're doing what they want w/o any consideration for anyone else.

This driver was coming up the parking lot & got to the top to see someone they knew, so hey let's just stop & have a chat while all the traffic around us gathers up in a bunch.
Another driver was trying to leave & just about knocked the side-mirror off the vehicle parked for chatting with a friend.

Yeah I know, no skin off my nose, it just happened to be the spot I intended to park in, LOL!
So the person who nearly got their mirror knocked off (or worse) just laughed like a maniac when they realized they'd jammed up the traffic & pulled out abruptly.
Argh!

Bipolar. Spent Thanksgiving and Christmas alone despite family being rather close. But I'm honestly okay with it. Did the same for my birthday. Not a big deal. Just days. We have fun and meet up on days most people dont have off. Less traffic for us. Yay!
