Ok what wireless set ups are you using.

I bought an X2 off of a person here and I could not be any more dis-satisfied with it. As soon as I got it, I noticed that the range on it was terrible... even with clear line of sight, I was getting maybe 20' before it would cut out entirely. I asked the guy I bought it from if it had any issues he knew of, and he said no. I begun looking around online and found a lot of reviews saying the exact same thing.
If I have 4/5 bars on my battery on the transmitter, I get maybe 9' of range out of it.
Line6 has been less than helpful with it, too. I don't expect warranty repair or anything, but at least someone to point me to who can repair it. They won't, though.
So, I'm interested in this thread, as I need a new wireless. 1U free in the rack after this weekend's gigs...

I have the line 6 that AMS was selling at $130 last spring. I think it's an X2 ... For me it works fine. I've been out 30 to 40 feet with no anomolies. Primarily I use it to sound check. In the places I play where I need to cheeck, there isn't much further to go...
Line6 G50 - wonderful unit. Great signal, no loss of sound from what I can tell when compared to a cable. Never had a drop out live.
Watch the battery indicator though, it does lie. You do get 8.5 hours to 9 hours of battery life on two Double AA's. Even when the indicator says 4 more hours and you know you are approaching 8 hours of use, better change the batteries! Batteries in bulk are cheaper anyways.....

Digital Ref Wireless - lots of range, lousy frequency resolution.
I got it for free and that's what it's worth, except it has massive range. I can walk halfway down my rear driveway and still get a good signal to the receiver - about 50 yards away.
Just don't ask it to transmit an open E.

The new Line 6 G stuff is the way to go. The digital systems like that have much better frequency response than most of the analog systems. Battery life is much improved over the older X2 versions as well. I have cheapest version, the G30, and it's definitely the best system I've used.
I use a Sampson I got for $100. Works great. I've gotten 60 feet with 2 Walls and a door in between me and the receiver. Never loss of signal and people still hear me fine
The stuff about the old X2 pedal wireless is true. It has line of sight issues. If you get a little far away and get blocked by something, it's entirely possible it will cut out on you. But it sounds so good that I live with it and just try to keep in range. Not like I go 100 feet out with it or anything.
I use the Line 6 X2 XDS Plus.

I use an ElectroVoice EV2. It is really meant to be a microphone wireless, but has a guitar setting that does a fantastic job. It is crystal clear, responds to low E very well, and has incredible range. I once walked over 50 yards and through three doors (Closing after I passes through) and it still worked! It is a great peice of equipment, small too, it isn't rackmountable, but is only about the size of two boss pedals. The only downside, it cost $500. Oh well, it was worth every penny for how much I like to move around.
I used a Sennheiser for many years until my until became illegal. It was a great unit. I now use a digital Shure. I dig it.
Not got it yet, but i'm planning on the Line 6 Relay G90, got the best reviews out of any of the ones i looked at, especially in that price range.

I got the Line 6 G50 a few months and have been using it and I love it. Bettery life is great and the sound is even better. I coudn't be any happier with this unit. It is very easy to use and setup too. This was my first wireless and I don't think there could be anything better in my opinion.
Shure ULX P4. Great unit. I've had mine for years. Never a problem.
Use the frequency finder on the website to put in the zip code of the gig, and it tells you the best "Group" and "Channel" to use.

I'm using a Brace Audio unit. They're a fairly new American company. I had some issues with the first unit. The CEO called my personally to discuss and then sent me another one. It's fine. The price is quite attractive.
