Hmmm, honestly haven't looked at any wireless units for like a decade, and that pedal form G50 looks fantastic. I don't use racks, so conventional receivers never appealled to me.

Line 6 G30 works great for me. Like another, I chose the 30 rather than the 50 because of the 1/4" cable as opposed to the ta4f connector. Have experienced zero issues with it.

I use an XDR-95 I bought about 4 years years ago - other than a trans cable that needed to be replaced after about 100 gigs, it's been flawless... FWIW, Line6 replaced my original trans cable, free of charge... It sounds as good as any cable, and I've never had a dropout... I also bought a used XDS-PLUS from another TB'er, and it works great, too...

I think the regular XDS-95 *can* be prone to dropouts because it's single freq transmission, instead of dual freq transmission like the -PLUS or XDR-95 versions, but that's just a hunch... I've traveled atleast 200 feet or more with mine, and never had a dropout with either one...

The only negative I've seen with the X2 system is the expense of 9v batteries - however, I've countered that by buying rechargeable LI-ION 9v batteries by HiTech, from batterymart.com... IIRC, I figured I'd have to get 16 gigs out of my rechargeable to be at the "break even" point vs buying Duracells - I've probably got atleast 50 gigs on a HiTech, and it's still going strong...

All that being said, if/when my X2 stuff craps out, I'll be buying a G50 or G90 - one of my guitarists is using one, as are several other players in my area I'm friends with, and all are happy with them... When it comes to wireless, Line6 rules the roost, IMO...

I've had the exact same experience, including the good advice to get the rechargeable 9v (and you have to get the expensive rechargeables...) Realize we're talking about the X2 XDS ("last year's") systems, which operate on a lower freq band - 902 MHz to 928 MHz, vice the new G30/50/90 systems, which operate at 2.4GHz. Without going through 6 months of military comms school, the difference is:
- 900 MHz requires more power (drain a 9V every set...two or more per show), but the lower freq can more easily "go through or around" obstacles, within reason
- 2.4 GHz uses far less power, will have a cleaner signal, but doesn't do obstacles nearly as well...

Line 6 G50 is working excellent for me. The only thing I don't dig is the proprietary cable to the transmitter. I'm gonna order another one as a back up.

I use a Line 6 Relay G50 system .I love it. I can't tell the difference between it or being plugged in with my George L's cables. I've taken it to Europe and South America as well as playing it regularly here, and it's performed flawlessly. I highly recommend it.

I'm using a Brace Audio unit. They're a fairly new American company. I had some issues with the first unit. The CEO called my personally to discuss and then sent me another one. It's fine. The price is quite attractive.

Same here. The early receivers had a manufacturing defect (thank you offshore factory) that caused them to short out the batteries and have to be replaced. I emailed them on a Saturday, got an email reply and RMA from the CFO within the hour, and she had a new unit in my hands by the following Wednesday. No problems since.

The Brace is rated for 40 ft. range. My system starts to drop out at about 100 ft. line of sight. Not bad for a $150ish unit. I got mine for less, during a sale.

I've seen the Chapter 7 posting on FB. See receiver defect above - that might well be why. A buddy of mine called their marketing guys and they confirmed the story. There's been nothing yet on the Brace site, so I assume they're hoping for a buyout or angel investor before they finally shut the doors. It wouldn't surprise me if they sell out or license to Line 6 as a very last resort.
