Hi I have an old 74 4001 Ric that I want to rewire and just bypass the Ric o' sound, the old jacks are literally falling apart, could I use this diagram to have the normal wiring plus push/pull mod and then daisy chain the outputs together for a single hot and ground going into a standard mono #11 jack, or is there some type of mojo I don't realize I'd be interfering with? thanks!

Old 4001 Bass, Stereo to Mono Jack possible?

Not sure what the green G and H are for. Here a clean copy of the image...see the bottom half.
Maybe this will help as well.
Basically you can just eliminate/disconnect J3 and tie the output of R1 and R2 together on the tip of your new J2 if you use a non-switching jack. If only J2 is screwed up, maybe it would be best to replace it with an OEM switching jack, and keep the bass original with Ric-O-Sound intact.

Just buy new jacks from Rick- the rear jack is already the mono/combined signal
As Sunbeam said, the jack closest to the strap button is both outputs combined (if the labeling is not worn off, it should say "STANDARD"). Others have been confused in the past, thinking that each pickup goes to a separate jack; this is not the case. The other jack, which should be labeled "RICK-O-Sound," is a stereo jack, and requires a stereo cable. The signals from each pickup would be broken out further downstream, either by a stereo-to-two-mono cable, or from a breakout box. If you just plug a standard instrument cable into the Standard output jack, you get both pickups (depending, of course, on the position of the selector switch).
