I have a question for all you ampeg afficionados out there, what amp is this? For the life of me, I can't find anything out about it other than it's an old 1970's B100 (according to the owner)
How's it sound? Does it have tubes? Someone will know, I'm just curious. Oh, how much did you pay for it? Sorry, that's it.
I used to have one very similar. Does it have a red and amber light on it? If it does, be very careful about that yellow indicator lamp. It will tell you if the polarity on your power plug is right. If you get it backwards, you will have voltage on your strings, which is extremely dangerous. I nearly electrocuted myself when my light burned out. Yours may a be a newer model which doesn't have that polarity thing. Other than that, the amp was awesome!! 100 watts of tube driven joy... Arrgh!
I'm prety sure the combo in your pic is all solid/state. I've seen quite a few of-em selling for $100 (or less) over the last few years.
okay yeah I'm not sure whether its solid state or tube but I was told it's only 35 watts. The owner doesn't seem to know very much about it so I'm gonna try to schedule a meet. Sorry this threads pretty pointless...
B100, introed in 76, discoed in 80 with the MTI buyout. It's 20w SS with a 10" speaker in a Thiele aligned vented enclosure. By that time, Ampeg dropped the 2-conductor plug and used a 3-conductor with ground, so shock hazard is greatly reduced. Hope he's not asking much
