One of my best friends from college is 63ish with a 4 year old daughter. I tease him about getting into the bounce house and doing backflips with the 25 year old dads. You're gonna do great.

ALL valid and I appreciate it. I got short in my initial replies.
Life is a challenge at times, and surprises are just that.
I'm still reeling and last night i was still a bit taken aback.
Agreed there was no trolling and I over reacted.
I can't believe the word reeling covers it. Best wishes, congratulations and good luck.I'm still reeling and last night i was still a bit taken aback.

This!!! This has been my experience with my twin boys, almost the same ages as you and your son. See my post!!I was 40 years old when my son, only child, was born.
He is 29 now and I am 69. Life has been and still is wonderful and amazing.
He is by far the best person a father could have. If truly is a gift.
Enjoy your newborn child with all the love and care you can find, every minute
because life is too short and goes WAY TOO FAST!
Congratulations to the both of you!
A lot of kids are raised by their Grandparents for one reason or another and most of them turn out fine.![]()
Invalid Link RemovedAnd if they don't turn out fine, then they must be corrected, if you don't mind my saying.
I married my 19 y.o. girlfriend when I was 22 y.o., and we had our only child two years later.
When our daughter was 18, she moved out on her own and that left my wife and I pretty much free of child rearing responsibilities for the rest of our lives.
I've been able to do what I please since my early 40s and I can't imagine being burdened again with a child to take care of for another two decades now that I'm getting old.
But that's just me. If having kids past your middle age is what you want to do, then I wish you the best.
