Looking good. Can you make the pickup ring from the same wood as the control plate? Just a thought.
Yeah, that would be ideal, but control plate is a veneer. Had trouble with it cracking using a fine tooth coping saw. Not sure it would withstand a drill bit/routing
The pickup ring in the picture looks like pickguard material? Could you glue the veneer to the pickup ring you made?
