Double Bass Olive G lovefest

Yep, it never stays in tune.
Neither do I.:help:

Seriously, I put it on yesterday at 4:30 and played a 7-10 gig. It required a few cranks but wasn't too bad.
From my last one, I remember it being maybe a hair flat or sharp but by the time the bass acclimated to the temperature and humidity, sometime during the first set it was fine.

It's worth it for the sound and feel.

I love it with the Evahs. Of course the tuning is not a big deal with the advantages of the string for sure.

IME the Oliv G is a darker sounding string, more tension than obligatos about the same as EP. Bow response is great and I feel it mixes well pizz wise with the EPs as well. The only thing, which I said above, is that it is a thicker string than Obligato or EP G.

This may be actually what I’m looking for.
I really like EP, but the g is just too bright on my bass. I’ve tried putting an Obligato g to combat that, but its a little too low in tention and still not exactly what I’m looking for.
