Sweet thanks, do you know if it will fit a standard MIM without modification?

1) with a rosewood board, you need a tort guard. It *is* in the rule book, you know... :)
2) get a Fender '62 Reissue guard, which already has the holes drilled for the pickup cover and tug bar. The ones from Stewmac or Allparts will not, but they both should fit a MIM just fine without drilling new holes for the 13 pick guard screws.
3) get a chrome bridge cover, and even if you never use a pickup cover, get one of those too and just try it for *one* gig. It would totally kill with white/tort/rosewood/chrome.

BTW, I was kidding about the rules obviously, but although I stand behind my tort-with-rosewood opinion, the white you have on looks very classy too. Kinda "bridal" I guess. Reminds me of... lingerie?

Cheers for the info.
hmm dunno bout screwing in covers.. I don't see myself being able to drill holes in my nice bass where no holes currently exist.. especially if I end up not wanting to keep them haha :rollno: (though I admit the one I have in my first post with this setup looks nice). Though using a 62 guard is not a problem.. if I ever had the urge I could install covers

On a Mexican bass, it won't affect any resale value, just looks - but it will look like you have an old Fender with the bridge cover taken off, so character! :)
