heres a snapshot of the Sepulveda Pass (the route i had to take) on a normal day with no accidents.

Now imagine this roadway with 3 accident scenes spaced 2 miles apart.

    Scary, huh?

Yowza! I would've taken the eastern route through Los Feliz/Atwater Village. I HATE the Sepulveda Pass!

No wonder you've got traffic problems. Ya'll are on the wrong side of the road! And if you can see concrete, it ain't traffic! :)

    Holy Chip!

Done my share of country over the years.
My fav was the 'new' country when I got hired to tour
    in the early 90s.
BL said he needed a bassist,
I said, "Ya sure man? I'm one of the loudest rock bassists in town"
He said "Yup, that's EXACTLY what I need."
At the time all the nationals were hiring rockers to back 'em up.
Went out and bought my boots the next day.

  7. Show up with a seven-string hippie sandwich. That'd be a hoot. Or hootenany?

    Absolutely NOT.

Never cared much for snakes (or their skin, for that matter).

Only boots i want on my feet are motorcycle boots. :D

I like C&W but I'd have to pass - could never wear somebody else's hat.

Yes. I went from a classic rock cover band to a country band and it's not even close. The gals at country shows are younger, cuter, more fun, make a lot more money and don't mind spending it.

    :D

I think that pic of our spaghetti junction (more formally, the Gravelly Hill interchange) must have been taken at a very quiet time. A quick Google image search for M6 traffic jam turned up many pics of what it's more usually like (i.e. stationary pretty much).

I spend that much time close to the spot in the pic that I should change my middle name to M6. It's one of the worst traffic blackspots in the UK.

That Sepulveda Pass pic is just crazy, though. The sheer volume of traffic made a big impression on me when I visited LA, even though I only actually got badly held up once (heading east on the Ventura Freeway into the city). We got stuck for maybe 90 minutes on and off and then everything just started moving again.

Anyway, glad to hear the gig worked out well for you in the end.

    This is true..

I really dont know how to play country... Thankfully,,, sticking to root - V carried me thru the night with no major mishaps..

Im sure their regular bass plyr has some chops.

but i was just keepin my head down and trying not to make a scene...

    It seemed to work...
