One Minute Audition

Sit down for that audition and nail Ramble On. Condense it a bit so you hit all the parts.

All the wanky stuff will make you sound... like a wanker.

Ramble on is a great choice. You can show off timing, feel, etc within the context of 1 piece.

Another vote for "Ramble On" condensed to get the main parts. It would be fun putting that together actually.
Hey all, the audition was on Sunday, and it went quite well. I played Ramble On, figuring that it required a sense of melody, timing, and it was recognizable. They loved it.
A one-minute audition in a school setting sounds like a "wheat from chaff" moment. I kinda get it.
Yeah, it definitely was. The "real" audition (for the spot) is Sunday- and they're having me learn real songs- Saturday in the Park, Carry on My Wayward Son, and Fire.
Thanks for your advice!

Audition went well, I believe they took myself and one other bassist (they put together two ensembles). During the audition, I was the only bass player who learned the material, and I ended up teaching the two others the basics of the songs. One (the other who made it) is a monster player, and he taught me some technique stuff while we waited. The other just had very little experience, but could read very well. I honestly think being prepared got me the part.
