One raised polepiece in a Precision Pickup

I have a brand new Player Precision with just one of the A-string pole pieces raised in the pickup. Like this:

So my question is: is it possible to lower this single piece or will it break the pickup? It makes the A string sound louder than others. That is easily remedied by lowering the pickup from that side, I know, but it is also visually unpleasant. First stages of OCD, you might ask...

Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I might as well mention it has a Tort Pickguard...

I successfully managed to swap a magnet from a finished coil, by using a vice (as a press), a "receiving tube" and a metal slug of similar dimensions to the magnet.
It's risky but possible. I'd be curious to know if that magnet is just longer than the others or it's just pressed in a different way inside the flatwork.

The 58 era pickups have raised A pole. No idea why. Leo did some cool things and also some dumb things. Just get another pickup.

depends on how the pickup is made;

if it's a traditional style fender pickup with two fiber flat plates bridged by the magnet poles and the coil wire is wrapped directly onto the magnets then absolutely not, you'll break a coil wire and kill the pickup

if it has the one-piece molded plastic bobbins then it's fine, the magnets are insulated from the coil wire by a layer of plastic

Just press down the raised magnet pole piece flush with pickup cover.
