ONE reason why I like Duck Dunn

I never really sat down and heard his groove on that song but my
dad has been in a Blues Brothers lip sync duo since I was born so
Ive grown up with the music in my life and he was sort of the reason
I started to play bass. I listen to the albums non-stop and now Im part
of the lip sync duo so I'm way into the music now. And don't forget Duck's
work on Stax . He is right up there in my book.

I miss Joe Walsh. Totally out of control, dancing on tables, playing and singing amazing and funny rock and roll songs while totally s-faced. Now he's Stepford Joe Walsh with the Eagles, and they pay him to be as totally boring and unfunny as they are. It better be darn good pay to put up with that.

That's a little harsh...being a constantly semi-loaded goofball when you're young is well and good, but when one is pushing 60 it gets to be a bit pathetic-- I think he takes playing Eagles music pretty seriously, but his solo stuff is more in a fun/lighthearted vein. He's said the Eagles was the most rewarding gig he's ever had-- maybe that was merely a suck-up to them, who knows, since he broke a lot of ground with the whole playing-rhythm-and-lead-at-the-same-time stuff he did with the James Gang.
Back to the thread...you gotta love a bassist who puffs a Sherlock Holmes pipe while he plays...somehow that communicates relaxed command and confidence...what could be worse than an unsure uptight bassist?

Yup , Mine too ! Been trying to learn this one by ear for awhile.

If you can find a copy of 'What Duck Done' it is written out, along with the orignal version from Taj Mahal.
