They were known to do that. But the advantage was you could adjust it to your liking on the fly. Can't do that with 2 screws.You would think they would pivot/rotate under pressure.

Why don't you go to a hardware store and buy a few dowels. Flatten one side, drill a hole, and screw it on. Sell the remaining dowels, with one side flattened and a hole drilled in them to recoup your loses.Does anyone know where one of these could be purchased?
Does anyone know what size screw is normally used to secure the thumb rest?
