Multiple Gain Staging for Correct PA Output (Preventing Going Into Red)

I find myself running the PA at most of my bar band's gigs. I have a SoundCraft Ui24R digital mixer and we're all on in-ears, but most of the locations we frequent have analogue mixing boards that go to a power amp and to house speakers. One of the difficulties I have is trying not to hit and...

Double Bass 1940s 5/8 German laminate with bass bar issues. Worth repairing?

A few years ago I traded a Palatino EUB that I never used for a 5/8 German laminate with a 38.5" scale length. It sports a sticker saying "Made in Germany US Zone," which puts its birthday in the mid-'40s to early '50s. The joy of acquiring a cool old bass via trade quickly faded when my...

The bar for playing out is set way to low

The drummer for my Rockabilly trio plays with another band, a "pick-up" band where the BL books gigs and then whoever is available shows. He was playing six blocks from my house, so I thought I'd go see them. It was awful, amateur hour in the worst possible way. Their setlist consisted of every...

Single hole Tug Bar or Finger Rest for 51' PBass

Hi everybody, I'm looking for changing the wooden tug bar on my Fender 51 PB reissue by a black one. Problem : I've searched for hours, but the early "one hole" version is quite rare and I just can't find one. Even a wooden one. Any idea where I can get this thing ? Thanks for all.
