Only bass songs

Here's another old chestnut, a standard of sorts, from way back(you're what, 14, 15? This tune is probably older than your grandparents).

The thing to keep in mind as you grow as a player, don't listen to just Rock or whatever, or just one particular time period. Expose yourself to as many genres and eras as possible, there's always something to learn, even if you don't play that style.

+1 for Fever and another +1 for the recommendation to listen to all kinds of music and styles.

How about Politician by Cream - nasty bass riff.

There is a guitar test on my school coming up, and I chose bass as my instrument. I have played bass since fourth grade (I'm now in ninth grade), so I'm not entirely a newbie. I learnt (outside of school) a song which I played with my ban, "long train running". When my school teacher asked what song I was going to play on the test, I just answered "long train running". What I didn't think about was that I was going to play alone, solely bass. "Long train running" doesn't sound that good without the other vital instruments, so now I'm kinda screwed. There's no problem in changing songs, but I have no clue what song to change to. I need a "bass only" song, and an easy one, as I don't have a lot of time to practice. Please help me, I'm desperate:help:.

Is someone singing the melody/lyrics while you play?

Best keep things pretty Basically

It flows nicely as a 41sec intro that leads into their S/T album's song N.I.B... though, technically it IS listed on the album as its own song

Here's a decent quick tutorial>

Serious question: Do these songs need to contain lyrics, and If so are you required to sing, too?? (I'm guessing no)

Good luck, my dude. I sure do wish I started playing an instrument half as close to your age!

I am required to sing if there is lyrics to the song, I believe... But if a play good enough I bet the teacher will think it's fine. Sorry for the really late replies, my PC has been broken for a while.

Thanks for all the replies, (the reason I haven't replied is because my PC has been broken for a while). Anyways, I got help from my bass tutor, and he taught me Ticco Ticco. What I have been taught of it I can play pretty well, though it isn't too much. If I get time he might be able to teach me more and then I'll really have a good piece to blow my test giver away with.
