I am going to one of those open jams tonight. Is there anything I should expect.i have not done this in a long time.

I am concerned that i will be 30 years older than most of the people that show up.

Any suggestions? i just want to play with some local guys and see if i can do some networking.

Relax!

Once in a while I fill in for the house band bassist at a local open mike night.

A lot of the players are guys (or women) who used to play and want to get back into it again.

Everytime I do this gig I bump into guys I used to play with in high school or in the 70's/80's.There's some younger players too.

By the way,I'm 55 years old.

Cool, I'm 55 too, I had fun I decided to bring my Hofner.I just got home

They had some decent GK stuff, really nice place. It was a newer, small warehouse with super high ceilings, 2 tiered stage with nice fake persian rugs.

Only problem was they did not have a drummer that could keep time.A several solo people asked me to back them with bass,
