Needs to check if it is painted like tye-dye with or if its transparent varnish to highlight the wood veneer. Either the nuances of color, metallic black is different then ebony black. Golden too, usually refers to the mounting hardware material or metallic paint. Refers to the color of maple, or pinus elliot with transparent varnish as golden or blond is wrong because it's a wooden color.
I guess refer the instruments of the photos as black gold matches only half in both instruments. Black matches with the bass because of the bridge and fretboard, but there is no golden color on it. The guitar matches with gold because the bridge and mounting hardware. To me the name of the painting of this instruments matches with shadow varnish.
Besides that, the bass does not match with maple color, it looks like Sammick color. The guitar does not match with maple color too, it's almost mahogany. The veneer direction too, to refer a instrument as maple color must be something like this with this veneer direction.
To refer a instrument as black gold it should be like to this.
Needs to check the setup of color of your monitor and graphics card too, if it uses hdmi, dvi, s-video or vga connection and the way the photo was taken too because it implies a lot on the visualization of bright things like varnish painting and metallic hardware.
