Orange Amplification Launches Updated O Bass

I think the pickup gives it a very unique tone that is my favorite p bass tone ever.Just my 2¢
Hi All, anyone here who has tried both the old run and the new one? Thoughts on the differences in the feel/weight/sound? I own the old one (the orange one, which definitely looks better with the white headstock rather than black, but I guess they made this decision, as the white is bound to turn yellow after some years pass?). Not planning to buy it, but I'm really curious to compare, yet no shops close to me have the new one yet, to simply go and try it myself.
Regarding the old one, after I changed the strings to half rounds, it sounds absolutely incredible. My luthier fixed the action height though, there was a nasty buzz on the 12th fret even before changing the strings, and the action was quite high. He also filed the frets, some were sticking out really nasty, not enough to cut yourself of course, but still unpleasant. All in all, I'm in love with my bass now, but indeed its balance is very off, so I grew used to just holding it quite upright all the time.

I have the new version so that's all I have experience with.I got mine from AMS and it arrived in very good condition setup wise.I have the orange and I wish they kept the white headstock.I bought it as soon as I learned a second run was out because I got shut out before.I love he sound of this bass . It's a bass one either loves or hates and for some reason it appeals to me.The neck dive never bothered me much with any bass, and I guess there's ways to deal with it as I've read on forum.
All I can say is...and I quote: 'The purpleheart fretboard gives the instrument flawless balance whether played seated or standing.'...
That the marketing people at 'Orange' have no clue about the thing they are tasked with ,advertising...would be my guess.What the hell does that even mean???!

I assumed they were trying to fend off accusations of neck dive with a reference to a supposedly lighter weight wood. Just a guess on my part.
I like playing more upright anyway, plus a wide leather strap saves the day, but truly, such marketing is just blatant
Looks like a cool bass! I might have to check this one out, but I prefer 1.5.

A body made from west African okoumé wood and a fretboard now made from super-durable purpleheart balances the instrument to perfection whether it’s played stood up or seated, and with the fretwork and neck moulding retooled with playability in mind, jumping around the neck and funky octave swoops have never felt more natural.

Not sure what the previous body or fingerboard was made of, but it does seem they are trying to use lighter weight materials for better balance, compared to the older reissue.

What I wrote as 'quote' was a verbatim quote at the time.
Not too much an Orange fan as a bass player personally. They have economized and ridden on their early name recognition success in my opinion. Did they ever manufacture guitars before as a company?
On mine they were 045-.105 gauge, roundwounds. I was not able to find the exact brand anywhere (orange do not make strings as far as I'm aware)
