Hey, I'm planning on buying the Orange Crush PiX 100BXT, but my main concern is, would it be useful for small gigging? How is the volume on this thing? I liked the sound when I tested it in the store, but evidently I couldn't try how much of a punch it gives volume wise.

Currently I'm using a 60 Watt Ibanez bass amp (don't know the exact version) I'm borrowing from a friend, as my 20 watt Hartke can't outvolume our drums at rehearsals.

I have the Orange 50 Watt model. When you crank that sucker you get a whole lot of volume out of just that, and I've used it to fill up a small bar before (not through the PA, just out of my amp). I would definitely think the 100BXT is good to go for small gigs.

Sorry about the late reply, I was just looking around for info about other Orange amps and happened upon this. I own the Orange Crush PiX 100BXT and I love it. I've had it for about 6 months now and it has surpassed my expectations. Great, defined sound and plenty of volume if you need it. I don't find it to be that heavy and the handles on the side are a nice addition if you need to use this to gig smaller areas. Good luck!
