orange drop vs. bumblebee

Give it a shot. It won't 'hurt' anything, if thats what you mean. You can always swap it for an Orange Drop later. I've never used them myself, but probably would try it if I had one.

anyone tried the sprauge bumblebee 0.47 cap as opposed to the .047 orange drop in a passive jazzbass setup will the bb work just as well

In a passive tone circuit, the audible difference between 0.47 and 0.047 is huge. The audible difference between "orange drop" and "bumble bee" is miniscule and debatable. Seems to me that 99% of the time when people report that a certain cap sounds so much more amazing than the stock tone cap, they changed the uF value as well, which throws the whole comparison into a ditch.
