Hey guys, I've recently got a Orange OBC115 bass cab and I'm using the bass terror at its 8 ohm setting, but a few minutes into playing I can smell what I can only describe as almost a sweet barbecue smell? The speaker cable is brand new, the head is in perfect condition, I was thinking it could be to do with breaking the cab in since its brand new? Should I take it back to the store and tell them what's up?

Is the Terror Bass new? I ask because mine smelled sweet also when I first got it. I kinda miss that smell now lol.

the studio always smelled like new amp.
specially with tube heads.

A music store I used to work at carried Orange, and I forgot all about that strange smell! There were a few other brands that we carried that had that same smell to them. I'm assuming they were made in the same factory. Nothing to worry about at all.
Like a new car, off gassing can go on for a long time. Enjoy the smell, you paid for it.
@BassmanPaul , is that a new meaning to the word "Orange"?Just remember not to squeeze the Orange too much - gets messy!!
'60s and very early '70s Marshalls smelled amazing. If they haven't been around too much cig smoke they retain that smell today. I tried out the new Marshall HW gear and it had no smell at all. Part of the disappointment.
