Ordered a Rickenbacker 4003 yesterday, any advice?

Congratulations! I have had Rics from the 60's, 70's, 90's and 2000's. The new Rics are great, some of the best ever built, I currently own a 2017 4003s.
RICs can be tricky but with patience they yield great results. My first bit of advice is don't treat it like a Fender! For your eq start with a blank slate. As for the settings on the bass I usually use only the bridge pickup with the tone rolled back just a bit, try out various settings and find what works for you. When playing my Ric (and lots if other basses) I use a DOD bi-fet pre amp pedal to beef it up a bit.
Again Congratulations on your new bass!
