Victor asked for ten equal parts that music could divided into. I know he said it can be broken down more, but what do you think about tension/release?

Tension and release is very important. But, to me, it falls under other categories, especially 'notes'. But tension and release can fall under the category of rhythm too. Think of knocking on a door to the rhythm of 'shave and a haircut'. The rhythm, even without notes, has tension and release. It's like asking a question and then getting an answer.

Doesn't the tension and release affect the sustain? And isn't that used to control the rhythm?
