other hobbies besides playing bass

I started training to become an aerobatics judge. Then we went and bought a small farm in Burgundy, France. No time for much else. I did take up six strung acoustic guitar last year after 40 years of playing bass. Loving it and now gigging with it.

With your bare hands????

I do use a shop rag or a little piece of leather to protect them, but nothing other than that. A couple of photos from back in January (sorry - I don't have video):

Bending a 6" 1/4" bolt:

Bending a 1/2", round piece of hot-rolled steel (I forget the length). The only modification was grinding the edges so I wouldn't cut myself if I slipped):

Since these photos were taken, I have bent much more - My favorite is to take a piece of 1/4" x 1" x 48" and twist it into a curlique or put 3 or 4 turns into it. I'm too cheap currently to buy harder metal, but I will make sure to take a video or pictures when I do. My best thus far (the hardest one) was a 23" half inch bolt, used in building construction. I've also bent a wrench and wrapped up a few frying pans.

LOTS of 60d spikes...
