Overdrive pedal capable of clean boost

Hello, what I am looking for is some transparent ovedrive pedal that would provide me with clean boost to drive my tube pre (I dunno how many dB does that require, but I would guess around 10 db?), when gain/drive are at 0. The boost should be really clean, meaning no scoop or compression, while the OD, when gain/drive turned up, should be capable of wide variety of tones from light od to fuzzy, but more on a vintage side of things.

Price: Bellow 150 € would be nice, around 100 € perfect (b-stock/second-hand included)

Right now I am using TC MojoMojo for that, but it doesn’t boost enough and isn’t that clean. Other option could be buying TC Spark Mini for boosting and keeping Mojo for OD/Fuzz, but I would like to keep the total number of pedals at minimum. Also, while Mojo is excellent for that price, there certainly are better ODs. Thank you!

Note: I am sorry to create a new thread about topic that must have been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn’t find it, although I tried.

Not sure what you mean by 'proper overdrive' but it does this:

Ou, I see. It’s more hair than I expected, however it still is something like crancked tubes, and I can achieve that by boosting my preamp, so I could easily go with mini version with same results. I would like something that go more fuzzy.

EDIT: In that video, Spark goes into SansAmp, so it’s hard to tell, from what the dirt comes.

Dr Scientist The Elements.

Does it all...low gain, high gain, almost muff-like fuzz tones....plus you can set it clean (essentially the same as The Cleanness pedal) so it acts acts a clean boost and eq. Also has a blend.

Right now I am considering EQD Plumes. 119 € new, has a dedicated clean switch, sound killer. Only think I fear, is whether it won’t suck my low end.

I find the plumes does suck some low end from the mix, especially if using it for more OD (excellent on guitar though). If you have a way to include a clean blend, it could be a workable option.

However, the EQD Westwood is more transparent, and has EQ to help retain more low end.

So you want a pedal that can do clean boost and fuzz in one? That spark booster gets pretty hairy, but it’s not a fuzz. Sounds like you may be looking for fuzz like saturation
