overrated guitarists -- one man's opinion

Anybody could fill Keith Richards' position?

Sorry, but that was a dumb statement.

 

0:50 for the video to actually start. I’ve a strong feeling his top 50 favorite guitarists would be a who’s who of “who?” with the number two player being Lita Ford and number one being the guy from Third Eye Blind.

 

Why do people make videos like this (Rhetorical Question). I am not going to watch it because there is no way that it has any relevant content, just bashing the popular guitarists to make someone feel better. I’m not saying that all videos have to be positive but they should be at least useful i.e. “10 guitartists whose style is easier than you think and why” or “10 guitar playing hacks that don’t really work and the tips you should know.”

Things like this just add to the toxicity of the internet.

Context is everything.

Growing up in Canada, I remember a time or two that rookies got called up to play for the Leafs to cover injuries or illness. Often they performed poorly because they were boys playing against men and they had not yet found their wings.

We would laugh and jeer at them and complain about how much they sucked and they usually weren't called up again.

But then I showed up to a few pick up games during public ice time. I recognized a couple of these guys. Against us they were like Gretzky. Truly gifted. So nimble on skates you couldn't get a check on them and scoring bags of goals.

I guess what I'm saying is that in order to get on this random guy's 'overrated' list, you first have to be solidly in the top 1% of players.
