If I'm reading it right, the manual says when you use the main out or mono out, they are controlled by the powered mixer's bus. That's where I get screwed up. If both channels(main and mono) of the powered mixer are being used for the mains(main & mono bus, EQ), how do you use it for the power amp and monitors? Do you just set the EQ and main volume but then use the external power amp to adjust the volume on the monitors?
If you would, can you give me a step by step procedure on how I can do this with my EMX512? It sounds like I may only need to pick up and external amp and 2 more 15"(s). Thanks.

As long as all the speaker cabs are 8 ohms, you can run 4 mains off the internal amp.

You then plug the external power amp into the mono monitor output. You should be able to setup the power amp to send the mono signal to both channels. Then, assuming the power amp can handle 2 ohms (which most should), you can run up to 8 monitors. So 4 monitors would be a piece of cake.

You then can use the EQ on the mixer to separately control the mains and monitors. The monitor volume control on the mixer will still affect the monitor out volume.

Update: The Behringer can be setup like I mentioned above. You want to set the DIP switch for parallel inputs, not-bridged. Then connect two monitors per side. While it would handle all 4 on one side, it will run cooler and more reliably with two per channel.
