We re-amped my DI track through a cranked SVT for the latest single of my band Ashmakers.
There’s some extra processing going on, but the SVT provided some punchy growl that (imo) fits the track incredibly well. Specially during the verses, because the bass line carries the song there.

Not just a P, but a G&L!! Great fricking song. I don't care what anyone says there is no substitute for me!!

Awesome track and great playing. Really hooky and catchy track. Really digging it. Mix and mastering is really good too.

I have a p bass and an svt-cl within 810 heritage fridge. That combo is just perfect for hard rock and metal. Im a big fan.

Great tone! That setup is not the only right answer. But it is never the wrong answer.
Thanks!
That's a juicy tone! P-Bass + Ampeg is THE sound for classic Rock N' Roll bass in my opinion. Nothing beats it.

Great track as well. :)

Do you have an isolated track as well? Or even bass + drums only? Would love to hear it.
Yes! I’m gonna do a breakdown/analysis of the mix once i have set up my new studio

Thanks! It is indeed a time-tested tone. It really smacks

On the gig with a solid state amp, I am finding my P-bass often seems a little bland. When I use one of my tube heads, it really perks up. (No SVT for me at the moment - both are just 50 watts. They cover many gigs surprisingly well but I hear bass tube amps in this power range often referred to as "recording" amps.)
An overdrive pedal set to sublet break up could help!

@IvanBassist what made you decide to use the G&L and not the Dingwall Super P? Do you alternate them on the album?
I wrote that track using the G&L, so it made sense to me to use it for the final recording. All the other tracks of the EP were recorded with the Super P, though :)

Nice playing, basswork, and tone......even though I'm not a P guy and have been a funk/dance music J, Ray,GL guy most of my life, a P through an SVT with roundwounds played with a pick is one if my favorite bass tones (not sure if you are using rounds or not but they sound new)
Yep! A fresh set of D’addario EXL 45-100 :)
Thanks!
