P Bass Pickup Re-Solder?

I am in the process of refinishing an old bass and like an idiot I was not careful in removing the pickup. It is a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 I installed a few years back. All the solder joints came undone and I have no clue if the 2 "sections" of this P-style pickup need to be wired a certain way/polarity?

My concern is the jumper (black) wire that was originally soldered to both sections of the pickup. I have heard this style of pickup is a humbucker/split coil configuration - the two sections wired in opposing polarity to help with hum cancelling. Is there an incorrect way to wire these back up, or can it go any which way?

About the soldering too...am I going to hurt the coils with the heat of a soldering iron to redo these joints?

You won't hurt the coils if you use good technique. The eyelets on the pickup were designed to be soldered to. Just be careful and take your time. The coil wire is tied into the eyelet from the "inside" surface, so keep an eye on it and try not to disturb it as you're working.

Basically, there is no wrong way to wire a P pickup. Just wire it up. If it sounds noisy, like buzz is getting through, swap the leads on one of the halves.
