O.k. I have a classic 50's p-bass, Black. I have been thinking of refinning the bass but cant decide on a color. Im basically down to 1. Sonic blue. era correct color, but i just dont know.. example.. looks cool with the gold pickguard, also with a pearloid pg too. Nextup 2. Olympic white. A nice "versatile" color. Looks great with any pickguard, and the cool thing is that with oly white I can make the bass fit any era with just a pickguard change. Gold pg gives it the 50s look, Tortise goes 60s. and then Black pg with thumbrest goes 70's. (even though the headstock decal would not be correct.) I even bought all the nitro paint for the project, (sonic blue.) But im really thinking about hitting the brakes on the blue and going white after seeing this pic!. What do you guys think? White or Sonic blue?
My favorite solid Fender colors: Capri Orange white pg Burgundy Mist white pg Sonic Blue white pg Sherwood Green mint green pg Dakota Red with mint green pg Ocean Turquoise mint green pg
Olympic white. If the bass had had a rosewood fingerboard I think it would have looked nice with a tort pickguard, but I think a black pickguard looks best with the maple neck.
Oly white. Sonic blue (or any medium/light blue) doesn't do anything for me (even though I have a blue Ashbory (it was a gift)
White for sure with a tort guard. I was surprised how much I liked the blue with the white mother of toilet seat guard though.
I'd definitely go with the Olympic White. It's quite classy. You might try a white/black/white (non-pearloid) pickguard with it, too, so you get the outline of the pickguard. Should have a modern look, and you'd stand out. .rai//
White over blue, but I've been on a sherwood green kick lately. I forbid you to do sherwood green w/a black PG.
Keep going with the blue... how can you argue with something as nice as ibanez collector just posted.
Hopefully we're just laughing at my terrible spelling and incoherent grammar... (also, this post almost ended up as bad as the last )
