P-Bass Tradition

Michael Anthony
Billy Sheehan

BTW, Jaco did play a Precision at a gig according to Roscoe Beck. Jaco came in to RB's gig, and sat in with his fretted Precision, ignoring Roscoe's unlined fretless P! Beck claimed to install Jazz pickups in the bridge position of all his Precisions immediately afterwards.

Charlie McCoy (Nashville Cat)
Norbert Putnam (Nashville Cat)
John Entwistle (Slab P-lover/killer)

Steven Stills (CSN and Buffalo Springfield sessions, yes Stills did a lot of the bass work)
Gary Gilmore (Taj Mahal, Natch'l Blues)

PS. Gee, I forgot about that wiki list.
Glad Tommy Cogbill got a mention, what genius.
Am I the only Bob Mosely fan?

Played the hell out a p with the King!!!!! :bassist:

Yes Jerry Scheff was one of my idols growing up awesome player. He also played on the Doors last album before Jim Morrison died LA Woman.

Tommy Caldwell leader and bass player for the original Marshall Tucker Band always played fender P basses. He died in 1980 in a jeep accident.

Robert Mercurio of Galactic plays a 62' P with flats. Great player!

Man, I got to P. Did I mention how classic the P-Bass is? It's all American...as American as baseball, Levi's denim, apple pie, and the beautiful bald eagle. The P-Bass is a great instrument, an icon in the American culture.

No. No you're not. And here's a nugget for ya, Stills wanted to be the bass player in the Lovin' Spoonful,as per his 1970 RS interview. Sadly his hopes were dashed. Now that I think of it? What did Steve Boone play?
