Pete Wentz, my favorite bass player plays P's.
EDIT: This post was as a joke, in case it wasn't obvious.

Other than Jamerson, who are the players that made the P-Bass famous?
).Was Paul McCartney ever seen playing a Precision?
Great list of new wave bassist that knew how to P, Fender32.
Historically, Jamerson rules and left a body of work he P'd on. Oh "Darling Dear" "Ain't that Peculiar" that "For Once in My Life" the P Bass is "My Guy", so, "What's goin' on?" Those hits are considered classics, just like a P Bass is considered an icon and why so many new wave bassist use it. Excuse me, but did I P all over the place? Maybe "I was Made to Love Her". Jamerson is a P Bass master.
(two of my personal faves Didn't he keep one in his office, for messing around on.Hard to believe, but Leo Fender didn't play bass.
A couple things, may have both already been mentioned:
1. To the original poster: Did Jamerson make the P-Bass famous considering only a handfull of people at the time even knew who played on all those hits much less what kind of bass was used?
