P basses

Does anyone else think P basses are a bit boring looking?
I love the sound but I have to say the body shape is a bit over rated in my opinion.

When I was young I found the P bass the most boring thing on the planet. 30 plus years on I'm still a Thunderbird guy but I have like 5 Precisions in the arsenal. Don't underestimate the Precision Bass.

I hate the way they look when I own one, and as soon as I get a different bass I start GASSING over P's especially the looks. Does that make sense?

I would say that next to Gibson basses, I think Fender Ps are the best looking out there. But I am extremely against boutique and coffee table looking basses, or anything exotic looking in general. The P bass sounds great and has the classic look.

I think all of the designs from fender and gibson from the 50s and 60s are totally timeless. If they were made yesterday it would seem normal.

Boring? Definitely not. P basses are dead sexy to me. Perfect. Are they fancy? Have woods I can't pronounce? Gold hardware? 500 dollar electronics? Nope. Thats just the way I like it too.

Simplicity is elegance.

Over rated body shape? Millions of P bass owners over the past 50 years would beg to differ.

Does anyone else think the Ampeg B-15, (or for that matter the Hammond B3/Leslie 122) are over rated?

(Only asking, because I own both, and find them to be unmatched by anything made today).
