P basses

Does anyone else think the Ampeg B-15, (or for that matter the Hammond B3/Leslie 122) are over rated?

(Only asking, because I own both, and find them to be unmatched by anything made today).

Yes. They are anachronistic and outdated technology. With modeling and digital sampling they have no place in today's gearlists. You should just let me have them so you won't have to bear the embarrassment.
:D

Until you've played a P bass in a gig situation on a really big PA system, you should reserve judgement. A P bass pushing 50KW worth of subs is...... Well, I can't post what I think here, but it's pretty darn cool.

They are sooooooo boring I'm gonna attempt to put y'alls to sleep.....

C'mon boys let's see em!.......

Yea, Boring... If everyone would stop buying them it would make my purchases much more affordable.

I have a couple boring P-Basses. They're like belly buttons, everyone has one!

The Precision is perfect for a dull and unimaginative person like myself. Just sit in the mix, don't bump out any other tones, make the music work and try not to wreck the damn song.

But I am extremely against boutique and coffee table looking basses, or anything exotic looking in general. The P bass sounds great and has the classic look.

Agreed 100%. Boutique basses can be extremely unfortunate looking a lot of the time. Some are downright ugly. But to each his own.

P-Basses are timeless, but that's like, my opinion, man.
