P J combos

I was wondering from the guys who own and play or some who have owned and played Precision and Jazz basses. How close to a regular Jazz bass does the PJ config sound? Is the P pup in the same spot as the neck single coil of the Jazz?

In my opinion they sound quite different when comparing a jazz to a p-bass....I tend to prefer the sound and feel of the jazz

Is there a reason NOT to get the bridge J pup to go along with the P pup in a deluxe P bass?

Get the J pup. Do eet. You will be happy. The combination is awesome and the J pup just gives you so much more versatility.

I have a warmoth J and absolutely love having two pickups.
