P/J for slapping?

Here is my new bass. I posted it in another thread so forgive me. I am very very pleased with it though.
Still trying to dial in a good slap tone, that seamlessly goes into a good fingerstyle tone in the same song.
 
I dig this, actually, the P alone sounds too "dirty" in my opinion and the added J makes the frequency spectrum sound a lot more even, in my opinion this is pretty much the "modern" slap tone that's popular right now.


Well it's good to hear the PJ's doing its job for some people.
I thought adding a J pup to a P sounded great on paper, which was the reason my first bass was a P/J.
I was already too used to the P solo slap tone, though, so I don't think I'll ever get to like the P/J sound... :scowl:

I'll admit that the lower two strings sound kinda muddy with the P soloed, though. If only there was a way to add half a bridge pickup...
