My 40th Anniversary Squier P-Bass came with rounds and sound great but I bought a pack of Fender Flats and can not wait to try them out . Flats will also be going on a fretless bass I have been building on and off for the past two years ......will complete in two weeks .

I’m primarily using a PJ with rounds and a semi-hollow with flats, but I've used them all listed and still have at least one from each category ready (except for the J with flats, but I keep a set of flats ready for it when the mood strikes about once a year).

Just put flats on my pj for the first time. I’m now transcribing everything Sean Hurley has put on the internet and looking for a cool pair of shades. Really loving the tone but the Jazz has its bass camp to itself as the two are now very different guitars.

Right now, my P bass has rounds on it and the J bass has Fender flats on it. I have two copies of each bass, so I may put flats on my other P bass and rounds on my other J bass. At some point in time when I get around to it. That way I'll have all the combos...

I voted for everything except a Jazz with flats. I tried flats on a Jazz once and thought it took away all I wanted to hear from a Jazz. I've been playing my Mike Lull PJ5 with TI flats for 11 years and it still makes me smile every time I pick it up.

I can't see much point in an active P bass but both active or passive Jazz basses sound good to me.

YMMV
