PA mixer through bass rig question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by qfbass, Jun 1, 2018.

  1. Is it okay to put the signal from a PA mixer straight into the input of your head to run through your speakers?

For rehearsals we've been doing this for monitoring with a band I play with until we can afford to buy actual PA speakers. As in: electric bass, synths and 2 SPD's through the bass amp via a mixing desk. There doesn't seem to be any issues - and I figure that so long as there's not huge sub sounds and I don't drive it too hard there won't be issues.

If it helps - head is a Little Mark III 600W @ 8 ohm (from memory?)
    speakers are 2 x TC Electronic RS210's 400W @ 8ohm each

There's nothing wrong with that, but it will probably work better sending the mixer output to the amp effects return, if it has one, instead of the instrument input.
