PA question???

My singer is in the market for a new PA speaker for our rehearsal space. He ran two at one point, but got rid of them for financial reasons. I figure I'd get your guys opinion about this before he makes the purchase.

He has one of these:

and he wants to buy ONE of these:

I emphasize one because he just wants to purchase and use one at the moment. Questions:

Is it likely to blow with that configuration?
Is it safe to run two of those cabinets with the nady in the future?

One or two of those cabs should be fine with that power amp. Its a two-channel amp, so when using two cabs, use one per channel and you will be all set.

We run those pv 215's in a band I help out with sound..those things can get really loud and handle a decent amount of power. I like em a lot... The sound isnt extremely great but more than functional.

Not a fan of Nady anything...you can probably get a much nicer amp for a few more dollars...Ive always been told never skimp on power or cables...

I will say these are 4 ohms...make sure you run them on separate channels unless you amp can go down to 2 ohms...basically dont daisy chain them.

The speaker is better than the amp is, but it should be workable.

Is this to be used for amplifying vocals only in rehearsal? Is he the only singer? What type of music are you guys playing?

In almost any case, a Peavey 215 (or any 2 x 15" speaker) would not be the form factor I would choose for rehearsal vocal monitor. I would suggest a decent quality floor monitor that the singer can position right near him to be used as his "rehearsal amplifier".

I've done many rehearsal with PA speakers (even big ones) set up at the sides/front/back of the band, pointing directly at the band, and that type of monitoring set-up has not worked as well as getting a floor monitor or two and putting them right at the feet of the players/singers that need them.
