PACKING PEANUTS PSA

I have become a lover of "packing cheesepuffs" I don't know what they are made out of, but compared to the styrofoam peanuts that disintegrate and stick to everything, these don't have any static quality to them at all and instead of breaking apart they just compress.

+1 For wrapping the item in bubble wrap or putting it in a bag.

If you put them in water they desolve... I believe they are made of corn starch or something...

I always scoop them into a bag as I unpack. It's a pain, but it's worth it. No peanuts on the floor!
I brought a tuner and my little plug in amp so I could try it but I don't have any garbage bags here at work bag up the peanuts. This has happened before and I took the box out to the dumpster behind the building and unboxed it there but this time I need the box and the peanuts.

I've gotten a few basses with a plethora of peanuts. Screaming Lucy from the east coast was kind enough to put it all in a plastic bag ( peanuts and bass ) before shipping it. As Mellow said it made for an easier time. The other bass was a nightmare for me. I managed to find peanuts several months after I had opened the shipping box.

Necro thread is sometimes fun, It's been a long while since I've seen Jimbob Jones afro :D

The styrene ones AREN'T edible, but the corn starch based ones are. They dissolve in water (most of the way) and look like a loogie. Hilarious in your buddy's coffee.

I used to work in the packaging industry. I found a bag of corn starch peanuts with a maze of tunnels and rooms created by mice in it. I ended up keeping t around because it kept the critters from getting into the new bags.

If you eat the styrene peanuts, you won't go #2 for awhile.

Packing peanuts are a pain. They get everywhere and take forever to clean up. Bubble wrap is much better and after you are done with it you can put it under your welcome mat and invite some friends over. The look on their faces when they step on it is priceless.

I've been using this crazy bubble wrap that won't pop. Best stuff ever. The bubbles are actually long rows with thinner and thicker alternating widths. The pressure just dissipates to other parts of the row.
