This is a build issue, but I thought I'd get more/better responses on this board.

I've been considering several body types for my first build (I'm actually just building a body and using a prefab neck), but I've decided to use the Streamer as my guideline. I was hoping someone could help me out with some pics with decent resolution. I need a completely vertical birds eye pic of the body so I can blow up the image and make my templates. Top and bottom views would be swell.
I found several images on the net, but most were at angles, were crappy res, or included the neck. I'm sure a photo savy guy could work with those pics, but I suck.
Any help would be appreciated.

In case you're curious- I'm working with walnut. I'm still a bit undecided about the pup(s), but I'm leaning toward a single MM humbucker and chrome hardware. I don't like too many control knobs :)
I also have a nice piece of white ash. If this works out, I might build another with the ash and a maple fretboard.

You may want to include Spector owners in the title thread because the body shapes are very similar (both designed by Ned Steinberger) and you'll get even more responses.

Personally, I'd think that the NS shape would be quite a challenge for a first build because of the round edges, total body contour, and back contour (tummy cut) but I'm not luthier so I can't say for sure. If you want the same general shape you may want to look at the Spector Legend series, similar shape without all the curves.

Anyway, I'd help out with the pics but I'm a 45 min drive from my Spector and I won't have my Streamer for a week or so, lol. I'm sure someone will pitch in though. Good luck with the build.

Thanks for the reply. I'd welcome any Spector images as well, if they are similar. I'm only using the general body style as a guideline anyway. I'm sure the finished product will differ to a degree.

As far as the difficulty factor is concerned, you might be right. But I'm a glutten for punishment :D In all seriousness, I have been practicing on scrap. I made a freehand template and took a router to it. I was surprised to find it wasn't too difficult....even for a hack like me. The proportions on my templates have been all wrong though. I suck at drafting and really need a pattern to trace.
