Pair of Mesa Subway 112s?

Andy.. after reading these posts about 12's is making me ask this question regarding my Mesa WD800. 400 watts at 8 ohms, 800 watts at 2 or 4 ohms.
I'm running 2 1x12's set at 8 ohms each.(they are switchable 4/8 ohms).
So, am I currently getting the full 800 watts from the amp at 4 ohms correct?
If I switch the cabs to 4 ohms each and switch the amp to 2 ohms.. there is no difference?
The cabs are rated at 300 watts each and seem to be handling the amp in all playing situations.

Correct, though there may be a sensitivity difference depending on how the VC windings are incorporated... I can't think of 2 identical wraps that would series to 8 ohms or parallel to 4 ohms, meaning that it's possible that in one mode part of the VC is left open (which will change a bunch of things). I'm not clear on the concept that's being used.

You are correct in your thinking, and I would try it both ways. The reason is....since your cabs only have one driver and are switchable impedance, you're losing output in one of the positions. It's probably either absorbed by a resistor, or wasted by an extra voice coil. So like Andy said, one mode could be much more efficient than the other. I'd find the more efficient one and keep it in that mode. Just be aware that the Subway can easily overpower those cabs.
