Pairing sealed cabs with ported cabs....

I've used my Bag End S-15 Ds with my Ampeg and Bergantino sealed cabs, and they sounded fabulous and matched up well. I get more clarity with the Bergie than I did with the Ampeg so I use the BEs less often now, but I sometimes use one with the 6X10 for better dispersion out in the room (the tall sealed 10" cabs tend to beam somewhat).

I was thinkin' the same thing.
A sealed 2x10 for highs/mids and a ported 2x15 for lows/low mids would own!
I use a svt pro 4 bi-amped into an old peavey 215 that's loaded with a pair of jbl 2226's
and a homebuilt 210 with peavey scorpions in a sealed cab made to match the 215. This rig has very clean and loud top end with a super deep growl on the low. The trick is to set your crossover points to match the drivers proper ranges.

Awesome, this is one of the reasons why I switched to the SVT PRO4. I have an old sealed GK 2-10 I will use with my Aggie 12s. The crossover on the SVT dials in nicely.
Get a bi-amped head. Put the sealed cab on top, the ported cab on bottom. Give the bottom cab all the low end, and the top cab the full-range signal. Let the ported cab help push out more low end, but the top cab run your signal full strength.
I've tried running the 210 full range but it's just not made to handle the lows that go to it. It sounds better if you set the crossover at around 100hz or 150hz. That gives the
10's a good full sound without the deepest lows muddying it up. Then you can crank up the lows to the 215 cab and get a slightly dirty sound without it sounding unclear. It's a good set up for most types of music. I use this set up with my jazz fusion band and my heavy metal project as well.
