Dear fellow Palatino/Harley Benton EUB owners, I am asking for your help to gather some information regarding the stock bridge that is provided.
Would you please tell me what your string height for the E and the G string are at the end of the fingerboard when the bridge is at its lowest setting? I know this may require you to alter your bridge adjustment so it's understandable if you don't want to.
When my bridge is at its lowest setting my E measures 10mm off of the end of the fingerboard and my G is at 4mm. That is a 6mm difference which seems excessive. I would like to find out if everyone's bridges are the same or if perhaps mine has been cut and shaped differently.
From what I've read and has been recommended to me, a difference of 1-1.5mm per string is the norm, meaning the E should be at 7mm-8.5mm with the G at 4mm.
I'm wanting to set my G at 7mm and me E at 10mm to start but, even though the bridge is adjustable, trying to get a 3mm difference from the G to the E while the bridge already has a 6mm difference built in is not possible without skewing the bridge feet too much and without putting too much undue stress on the strings.
